<DIV>Roy, Todaywas an extroadinary day. On Thursdays I do voluntary work at Palmetto Hosp. in</DIV>
<DIV>Easley.Just before leaving, my co-worker told me that Sen Jim DeMint was in the building,</DIV>
<DIV>and directed me to a corner where he was planning a photo op.The president of the </DIV>
<DIV>hospital was there, and when I asked him about the Sen, he replied he will be here in a </DIV>
<DIV>moment. When Sen. DeMint arrived, I shook hands with him and proceeded to tell him that</DIV>
<DIV>I was extremely disappointed with him for his vote for CAFTA. I continued to tell him "CAFTA</DIV>
<DIV>is not a trade agreement be cause it gives other countries power to make policy decisions</DIV>
<DIV>for America". I continued, "That makes it a treaty which requires 2/3 vote by the Senate, and</DIV>
<DIV>that the way the vote was done is unconstitutional". I continued with the "after midnight vote and beyond the limit for another hour so that Pres. Bush could continue to twist arms to get </DIV>
<DIV>more votes". Sen. DeMint expressed the opinion that I did not know what I was talking about,</DIV>
<DIV>and I replied that I would not be voting for him at the time of his next election. All of this in</DIV>
<DIV>the presence of the president of the hospital, who looked red faced and not too happy. I</DIV>
<DIV>hope very much that I will continue my voluntary work there, but I couldn't pass up the </DIV>
<DIV>opportunity, face to face, to express my great disappointment over the attack on the sovereignty of our nation, and the removal of our borders.I confess that when I left, I was one</DIV>
<DIV>nervous lady over the whole incident, but Roy, truth is very precious and when a door is opened to defend it, I believe it would be very wrong not to. A day I will long remember!</DIV>
