It might be interesting for any of us to find out how much money local schools budget for police. Even with everything we've been through, I was shocked to hear on local talk radio just now that in here in the Second Garden of Eden -- Anderson, SC -- the figure is $1 million! Caller and host rightly lamented that this is because teachers are not in control of classes, or are not allowed to.


I'm hoping the above figure applies to the county (pop. 173,000) and not the city (pop. 25,500) -- but am afraid to ask.


10-15 years ago when I was subscribing to William Murray's newsletter,he reported that the very school in which his mother (Madalyn Murray O'Hair) sued to have God thrown out ofeducation isn't a school anymore. It's the headquarters for the police for that school system.
