View Full Version : Weasel word no 429: "anglo"

can i unsteam about something?

awoke this morning to a grating female voice bragging in NPR news that at least 3 states plus DC now have nonwhite majorities, and -- of course -- that "overall this trend is beneficial."

that's bad enough, but she typically, systematically, pointedly, jerkily wormed her way out of using the word WHITE by saying ANGLO instead. this burns me in two ways:

1. isn't anglo really a "lite" epithet little better than "honky"? one NEVER hears or reads it except in some context where minority woes are being rehashed or some minority victory is being trumpeted. i'll have you know I am NOT an "anglo," I AM A WHITE MAN, and if media mavens don't have the guts to use the W-word, they can go to the bad place, because....

2. it seem to me that the main reason for such behavior is that it would tend much more to awaken the sheeple. To say "anglo" here (for instance) makes it sound to many around the country like adistant, southern border type thing.* to say that three states are now MOSTLY NONWHITE in such contexts -- think how many there really are, now! -- would not only more starkly show aliens taking over everything but media mavens BRAGGING about it in a disgustingly in-your-face fashion.

liberalism never dares take the marbles out of it's mouth and tell it like it really is. in fact, it's verbally puritanical, constantly hiding behind various idiotic buzzwords, mostly of its own invention, many of them stolen from the beautiful, intelligent English of Noah Webster and Thomas Jefferson.

will you hate the word "anglo" with me -- you know, along with"isolationist,"and all that? yes, hate is called for. nothing's going to improve before a lot of our people get a lot madder. /\/.

* it also implies between the lines that it's only hispanics getting the upper hand -- a more tolerable downfall for many thant hte reality of the situation, namely whites being pushed out by combined armies of hispoids, chinese, somali bantus, and commie "russian" jewish mobsters.

The word "Anglo" is nothing more thana fits-all-whites racial epithet used by Mexicans. It's a somewhatnicer way of saying "gringo."

Anotherword increasingly usedwhich gratesis "Caucasian." Even some racially conscious whites use it, but it's a very unattractive word.

i wondered that as i wrote it -- but what would you suggest?

I have always enjoyed the reaction from other folks when I tell them, " I am of White Western European heritage"!

More than once, when filling out job aps.I have been asked if I would like to state my racial status in another manner. My reply always is,NO!

“Anglo” appears, in many cases, to be a term that is used to refer to
everyone in the USA who isn’t “Hispanic” regardless of race. It
appears to be a term that means nothing more than people who are not
“Hispanic”. Of course, Whites are, always, the prime target of
any non-white group, but unity of the “Hispanics” a group that when
push comes to shove are going to break into their racial parts.
Whites will go with Whites, blacks will go with blacks, Mestizos with
Mestizos and so on. The only real Anglos are the English
and their White descendents and the only true “Hispanics” are the
Spanish and Portuguese and their White descendents, but the term
“Hispanic” has been used in such a way recently that it has come to
mean “Mestizo”.

The use of the word "Caucasian" when talking about
ancient bones and mummies is done because of how the scientists refer
to them. "Caucasian" is a word that scientist use not
to say the word White. It has come to include both White European
types, and other groups of "Caucasian". It is probably a good
word to use when referring to non-European type "Caucasian" grating can
help made the point these aren’t White European types.

Caucasians are from the mountains in Armenia through
Iran. Gringo came from Greco which meant Greek. The Anglos
were a Germanic tribe that moved to England and are ancestors of the
English I guess. Many Americans are not English, Greek, or
Iranian. I guess its like how the Amish call everyone else
"English" still, yet the US has not been part of Great Britain for 230
years.

At the top of the page I fulminated against liberal buzzwords "anglo" and "isolationism". Great new development regarding the latter: libertystickers.com, which I reported on here much more recently, has a bumper sticker that answers this disgusting, lying, criminal liberal smear term perfectly in three words we can all file and redeploy as needed:

NEUTRALITY ISN'T ISOLATIONISM

See, they've got everybody in the whole country except you, me and 10 others buffaloed into thinking America's only two choices are constant foreign warfare and unnatural, unhealthy isolation. This is further proof of the mental illness of their (liberal ideologues') program or minds, or both -- taking the proper and decent position and shouting it into near-total obscurity.

It can't be denied that this is what they've been working on, or that it's a poisnous agenda for all concerned, even them -- making them suicidal and gencoidal in purely logical terms. Who would want to totally screw up public discourse like this?

Cui bono?

The usual round of suspects?............

Joe Sobran continues his run on analyses of the buzzwords we live and die by.

http://www.sobran.com/columns/2006/060608.shtml

This is a major major column despite its shortness. It kayoes the "civil rights" golem; it shows that movies are nothing but acted out liberal SERMONS; it even dissects the huge monster liberals have made of the word discrimination. I've done all these things toobut my columns have a fraction of the audeince Joes do...... but I've pointed out something he only hints at: by destryong our ability to discriminate in whom we choose for friends, neighbors and employees, many have lost their ability to discriminate in the original sense of the word, too, i.e.:

http://www.sobran.com/columns/2006/spacer.gifNow, discrimination used to be a perfectly good word. It meant the ability to tell things apart. We praised people for being discriminate or discriminating. You discriminated “between,” not “against.” Then the word unfortunately became associated chiefly with invidious forms of discrimination. Now its primary meaning is almost forgotten............

......................which is to say that one generation after another is made BLIND, DEAFand otherwise INSENSATE by the institutions' across-the-board mandate, "thoushalt not discriminate"!

LATER. As if executive orders, federal mandates etc. weren't enough, Bushy has brought celebrity status to an outrage known as "SIGNING STATEMENTS." UGH!
