William Bennett -- was he the "drug czar" or "education czar" under some jive-talking recent Republican president? -- has a talk show on the world's formerly greatest AM radio station from 6 to 7 AM weekdays. it's called Morning in America (presumably after the lying slogan by which W originally swept into power), andthe most pitiful attempt at neocon respectability you can imagine. the fool sits there intoning lite conservatism and occasionally injecting jarring doses of neocon PC twaddle. owwwww, it's bad! one knew in the old days he was a federal deity and as such could ultimately never be trusted -- but he used to talk a good line when guesting on Focus on the Family or whatever. now he's an open, bald-faced, NWO statist or globalist -- a real commie! he talks in the mode of one addressing a class of "gifted and talented" 6th-grade civics students. or like a "gifted and talented" 6th-grade civics student himself. why does he do it?he sounds like he'd ratherhave slept in. do you suppose he's on 100 or 1000 stations nationwide, and gets $5 or $25 apiece per broadcast day -- you knoqw, being a famous sometime Republican deity?

GOP chief Michael Steele filled in for Bennett today. I can't believe it's almost four whole years since I wrote the above -- bad dreams are supposed to have an ending?!

OK, I just tried checking the list of stations carrying this nonsense. The good news is that
(for instance) only TEN stations show in Texas and ZERO in New Jersey! Wikipedia offers further clues: Bennett is currently the host of Morning in America, a nationally syndicated radio program produced and distributed by Salem Communications. The show airs live weekdays from 6 to 9 a.m. Eastern Time; it is one of the only syndicated conservative talk shows in the morning drive time slot. However, its clearances are limited due to a preference for local shows in this slot, and the show gets most of its clearances on Salem-owned outlets.
