Thread: Ron Paul

  1. #21

Ron Paul rocks! Having just concluded a half-hour long conversation with the Washington-state chairman of the Consitution Party, Glenn Freeman, I'm happy to reiterate what you probably already know: The national CP Chair, Jim Clymer, has been intouch with Dr. Paul's campaign, and their talks have been amicable. Understandably, the Paul campaign isn't broadly publicizing the fact until after the GOP's likely denial ofits nomination to our hero.

Since a series of lucky "coincidences" in my youth and early adulthood, I've always been convinced that things generally have a way of working out for the best. Let us thank and praise God for the Internet, without which we still would have our mouths stuffed with ADL's dirty sox! Edited by: Wicked Warren
Let it be known to the entire world, I am hell-bent on defeating AIPAC, ADL, ACLU and all other traitors of their ilk whose goal is to destroy the United States Constitution and the American Republic.

    <DIV></DIV>
I wanted to encourage your members to work the GOP functions in your area. Many of the Republican clubs have featured speakers monthly. You should sign up your best spokesperson to speak on Ron Paul’s behalf. Short of that any club chair or county chair would let you make a two-three minute announcement and pass out slim jims. The NCGOP website has two valuable resources. First is the listing of GOP county chairmen at http://www.ncgop.org/getactive/join.asp . The second is a partial calendar of many GOP events around the state at http://www.ncgop.org/cgi-bin/calendar.pl . Most of the local party organizations also have websites. RP people need to attend those meetings and pitch Ron Paul and the meetups. This outreach can be impressive because no other presidential campaign has a grassroots organization in <?:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 /><ST1:STATE><ST1:PLACE>North Carolina</ST1:PLACE></ST1:STATE>. Your objective is to get the local party leadership to go to the website and listen to Ron Paul. Unless they are committed neo-cons, many will come our way.
    <?:NAMESPACE PREFIX = O /><O:P></O:P>
    <DIV></DIV>
It would help to register Republican. You can vote for Ron Paul as an unaffiliated voter but organizing among the GOP is a little tricky. The other reason you need to be registered Republican and all the PR supporters need to be registered Republican is that in order to vote at the conventions next year to select delegates from the local level to the national convention and select the presidential electors, you have to be a Republican and attend the conventions that start in February with precinct meetings. Important note: you must register GOP by <ST1ATE Year="2008" Day="31" M&#111;nth="1">January 31, 2008</ST1ATE> to participate in the precinct meetings which is the first step in the delegate process.
    <O:P></O:P>
The last time an insurgent grassroots movement hit the state GOP was the 1988 Pat Robertson presidential campaign. Many people flocked to his support and had never been involved with party politics before. Their enthusiasm was so great and their turnout at the local GOP conventions was so high that they swamped several county committees. For example, when the smoke cleared in <ST1:PLACE><ST1:PLACENAME>Iredell</ST1:PLACENAME> <ST1:PLACE>County</ST1:PLACE></ST1:PLACE> in 1989, the Robertson people had taken every <ST1:PLACE><ST1:PLACE>county</ST1:PLACE> <ST1:PLACENAME>GOP</ST1:PLACENAME></ST1:PLACE> leadership office. None of them had been involved before and sat around and said well what do we do now. In a similar vein, the grassroots Dean campaign lost the battle of the presidential campaign, but seized control of the party and moved it to the Left.
    <O:P></O:P>
Finally, I hope you are maximizing your outreach to potential supporters using social networks. Facebook allows members to state political views in their profiles and allows members to search on that field. For example, there are 740 some facebook users in the Triangle area who identify their political views are libertarian and 1000s who identify as conservative. You then can send then an email to visit the site to hear Ron Paul and come to a meetup. Meetup college students can search their classmates’ profiles, find them, and send them an invitation e-mail. They can render this great assistance during the summer even before they return for the fall semester.
    <O:P></O:P>
Hopefully this is helpful. Bernard, call me at 336 577-2711 if you need a more detailed description of the delegate porocess.
    We appreciate you!

    Successfully yours,

Ron Paul’s quixotic campaign confuses career pols
    By Stone Martindale
    Jul 31, 2007, 17:17 GMT

People aren't sure of what to make of Ron Paul. He isn't coiffed like Romney or Edwards, not in the limelight like Clinton or Obama, and certainly has no big corporate wehrmacht funding his campaign.

What he does have that perplexes and confuses career politicians and the people who groom and package the two party leaders we will be saddled with chosing, is a genuine growing base of Americans who want to know more, and aren't put off by his spartan platform that doesn't get bogged down in religious morality plays.

Paul’s campaignis picking up steam. His recent fundraising statistics reveal a robust and growing internet-based movement that is uniting Libertarians, Independents, old school Republicans and Democrats fed up with the lack ofeffectiveness the party has suffered for decades.

His performance in the media has been on point, and his organization is fine tuning their message.

There is no doubt, in the face of better funded and more mediafortunate candidates, that Ron Paul must keep up his quiet momentum to be considered a viable candidate and to seriously challenge his mainstream opponents.

Paul faces a set of obstacles unlike any other candidate in the race. He bucks the machine that wants you to choose from carefully screened and selected candidates from both parties that will not upset the big corporate American applecart: Big oil, big pharma, and big agra - the corporate scions who like their laws and tax breaks undisturbed, and are happy to see you drive off in a Hummer while gas looms over the horizon at 4, 5, 6 dollars a gallon;that aren't losing sleep that your health insurance premiums are unaffordable.

They also want youto continue to ingesthigh fructose corn syrup and cheap food fillers that they get away with until enough people cry foul. The results of that folly fuel the growing sick population saddled with diabetes and other poor choice related diseases that require lots of expensive maintenance prescription drugs, and even more expensive healthcare.

Paul knows that challenging this cabal of sympatico corporate interests is going to be a tough road, and he will attract critics with big corporate money to defeat his efforts as his cache rises with voters.

According to his own website, Ron Paul is running on three specific ideas:

    1. The federal government must function within the strict guidelines of the Constitution.

    2. America should deconstruct its empire, withdraw our troops from around the world and reestablish a foreign policy based on noninterventionism.

    3. America should abolish the Federal Reserve Bank, eliminate fiat currency and return to hard money.

Ron Paul Radio will launch on August 6th and will be broadcast on GCN Live (http://www.gcnlive.com/) Monday-Friday from 3-4 PST, 5-6 CST, 6-7 EST.

This will be a live internet radio call in showto serve as a media outlet for campaign announcements and news, a vehicle for the organization of Ron Paul support, so that the American public, who will have a hard time finding him in mainstream media, will get a chance to decide for themselves if Paul's ideas speak to them.

Ron Paul Radio is an independent effort of individual supporters of the Ron Paul 2008 presidential campaign.

An article entitled "Ron Paul Scores Over Nine Percent in Iowa"

Ron Paul just scored over nine percent in the Iowa straw poll –the first Republican event with a large number of voters. The winner of the straw poll, Mitt Romney scored 32 percent, suggesting that Republicans haven’t yet found a candidate, whom a majority will support. The Iowa primary will be held in January. Ron Paul’s decent showing should finally put him on the radar screen for Republican voters.

Paul has been battling a news black out by the mainstream media, who have previously dismissed him as "insignificant" with only one or two percent support. Ron Paul has built up a huge following on the Internet and has the greatest momentum of all the candidates. The mainstream media will either have to start giving Ron Paul some news coverage now or they’ll have to invent a new excuse to keep ignoring him.

Yes in a controlled environment the jet fuel wouldn't burn it and it would stay standing. A building that is over 50 years old,a destroyed base, and having a 747 run into makes the situation more complex then "jet fuel couldn't take it down". Think by yourself and don't be dumb enough by watching a few videos and thinking you're "educated". Most of the segments in those video's twist the truth. You blindly accept facts, which of none most of those conspiracy theory movies cannot back up.

He will help Americans gradually return to independence from the government. He says there is no reason to pull the plug on anyone who is dependent on social security or other programs, but we will move toward a system of self-reliance i.e. keeping your own tax money to save for difficulties. Do we want the government to be our babysitter? Private charity is FAR more effective than any bureaucratic governmental programs.

An article entitled "Mainstream Media Censors Ron Paul Victories"

You would think a news story about an underdog candidate who suddenly pulls ahead of the field would automatically be the lead story on the news… or maybe the lead story in the political section… or at least appear as a story in the political section. Well, that sort of story would be a headline news event if our news media were impartial. The mainstream media in America is anything, but impartial. The mainstream media is joined at the hip with the neocons, who lied us into the Iraq War. The mainstream media wants a neocon candidate such as Giuliani, McCain or Fred Thompson to win the Republican primary and they will slant the news coverage to favor the neocons.

A candidate, who calls for an end to the Iraq War, warrantless wiretaps, torture, secret prisons and other neocon policies (as Ron Paul has done), won’t get any positive news coverage from the mainstream media.

Report from New Hampshire: The Ron Paul Show </DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
    <DIV>From: richangell2@yahoo.fr </DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
    <DIV>
On Saturday the 18th of August, I attended the Strafford County (New Hampshire) Republican Party picnic and straw poll. Several candidates and other bigwigs spoke, including representatives for those candidates who couldn’t be there. By the end of the day, I was calling it the Ron Paul Show, with a bunch of forgettable side shows.</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Overwhelmingly, T-shirts, buttons, hats and signs bore Ron Paul’s name and messages more than any other candidate. One couldn’t help but feel sorry for any speaker that day who wasn’t the Good Doctor himself. Each speaker received perfunctory, polite applause, and there were always private conversations humming in the background, as the candidates and other speakers did their best not to look distressed at their lack of attention.</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>The organizers did the particularly cruel deed of scheduling Dr. Paul in the middle. When he was announced as the next speaker everyone was under the tent on their feet for a rousing standing ovation, which ended only at the insistence of the M.C., and which resumed with equal enthusiasm once Dr. Paul took the stage.</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>His speech was interrupted every few sentences with the roar of clapping and cheering. Then, when he was all done and stepped away from the tent nearly everyone went with him, swarming him for photo shoots, handshakes and interviews.</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>The few of us who stayed under the tent, even if for only a few minutes, either really did support the other candidates, or just wanted to be polite for the unfortunate speakers who had the ungodly task of following Ron Paul's act.</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Later, the last speech mercifully finished, the ballot counting finished, the results of the straw poll were announced. For the results, I’ll turn the reader over to the following three items:</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>1) A report on recent straw polls across the nation</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>2) An example of typical media reporting of the campaign in New Hampshire</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>3) A video link where you see the straw poll results announced</DIV>

Ron Paul Wins NC, AL, NH Straw Polls, 3rd in IL </DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Ron Paul continued his strong performance in votes requiring active participation and informed voters, racking up wins this week in straw polls in New Hampshire, North Carolina, and Alabama, and placing third in Illinois.</DIV>
    <DIV></DIV>
<DIV>Today's Alabama straw poll win was the most impressive, an incredible 81% showing in a poll of 266 Republicans who paid $35 each to participate, and was billed as Alabama's only Republican straw poll. Dr. Paul followed that up with a 73% showing in the Strafford County Republican Party straw poll in New
Hampshire, after putting in a personal appearance this afternoon. (Huckabee and Tancredo also attended.) He placed third in the largest of the four straw polls, earning 19% of 922 votes cast at the Illinois State Fair.</DIV>

The next big test is the Texas Straw Poll on September 1st. In an apparent move to prevent Ron Paul's enthusiastic supporters from dominating the results, the Republican Party of Texas has limited participation to delegates to past state or national conventions. Ron Paul has not been deterred by the tactics, and will be treating the delegates to a pre-vote Texas Pride party at the Worthington Hotel in
Fort Worth the night before, featuring Texas blues legend Jimmie Vaughan.</DIV>

Looks like the evil establishment is getting desperate; the dirty tricks are getting dirtier.

Hannity Lies To Discredit Ron Paul After Debate - Claims "Paulites" flood voted to skew text poll, yet only one vote per phone number was allowed

Paul Joseph Watson - Prison Planet - Thursday, September 6, 2007

Fox News and Sean Hannity tried to discredit Ron Paul last night after the latest debate by claiming the Texas Congressman's runaway success in the subsequent text messaging poll was due to "Paulites" flood voting, when in fact only one vote per phone number was allowed.

Ernest Raposa, a viewer in New Bedford, MA, decided to text in his support for Ron Paul and received a message back stating, "FOX News UVOTE: Thank you for voting! Watch Hannity &amp; Colmes for the results."

"As the show progressed, it became obvious, as we have seen previously, that Ron Paul had the most support, hovering around 33 per cent," writes Raposa. "Around 11:25pm EST Hannity declared that though Ron Paul had DOUBLE the support of the tied for second place Giuliani and Huckabee it was clear that the "Paulites" were simply dialing in over and over again, devaluing his lead."

Aiming to test Hannity's theory, Raposa attempted to text in a second vote for Ron Paul from the same cellphone. He received a message back saying, "You have already voted on tonight's debate. Thank you for your participation."

Only one vote per cellphone was allowed, therefore Hannity's contention that Ron Paul supporters were "were simply dialing in over and over again" was nothing more than a brazen lie intended to dismiss the Congressman's widespread popularity. No one at Fox News bothered to correct Hannity and no retraction was issued.

Debunkers continually claim that Paul's success in text message and internet polls is merely a result of a small group of supporters zealously "spamming" or "flooding" the polls when in fact votes are limited to one per IP address and one per cellphone number.

Such dirty tactics from Neo-Con stooge Hannity and Fox News were merely a continuation of Fox's policy to attack Ron Paul throughout the broadcast.

Despite the fact that the New Hampshire audience broke out in spontaneous wild applause at almost everything the Congressman said, Fox News deliberately boosted the microphones of the other candidates when Paul was speaking, making sure the snickers of Giuliani, Romney and the rest were clearly audible.

Establishment darlings were once again afforded shed loads more time and even nobodies like Huckabee and Brownback got twice the amount of questions compared to the Congressman. Paul got the chance to answer just three direct questions in a 90 minute debate.

Fox News moderators weighed in with glee in an attempt to ruffle, smear and sidetrack Ron Paul. His first question revolved around a purposeful misquote of the Congressman's position on allowing pilots to be armed and it only went downhill from there.

"The second question though revealed the unbelievable bias of Fox News," writes Anthony Wade. "In response to a question about Iraq and troops, Paul reiterated that we needed to pull the troops home, period. He has consistently said that we need to address the entire foreign policy and start protecting our own borders and our own country. In response to the false notion that there would be a “bloodbath” if we just pulled out, Paul quickly reminded everyone that the same people speculating that there would be a bloodbath are the same people who said Iraq would be a “cakewalk” and a “slam dunk.” He then correctly pointed out the faulty logic that says we need to stay for stability when it is widely reported that our presence on the Arabian Peninsula is what prompted the attacks of 911. The response from Chris Wallace was to pose his own follow up question which was, “So you are saying you would take your marching orders from al Qaeda?”

"Are you kidding me? The inherent bias in the question was disgusting during a debate forum and Chris Wallace revealed himself as nothing but a whore for the machine and not a credible newsperson. Thankfully, Dr. Paul was up to the task by responding that he would take his marching orders from the Constitution."

The last question was another manufactured "hypothetical" in which Iran had nukes and was threatening to use them on Israel. Fox News were sure to go to Ron Paul first in order to have the other candidates gang up on him after.

As soon as the debate was over, Giuliani and Hannity were busy attempting to mock Congressman Paul with more sophomoric barbs.

The desperation of the Neo-Cons and the establishment to ridicule Ron Paul again highlights the sheer terror that they are experiencing in light of the fact that a real candidate communicating about real issues is putting the rest of the shills to shame.

By continuing to smear, lie about and dismiss the Congressman, Hannity, Fox and their ilk are nervously praying that they can keep the lid on the Ron Paul Revolution and prevent the Texan from breaking into the vaunted "top tier" and obliterating the bought and paid for competition.

Somebody sent me a link where the Jew York Times is actually admitting the existence of the Ron Paul groundswell—and somebody else sent a link to the best, most vehement Ron Paul footage yet!

Hope it lasts at the page in question. The danger is that it will be replaced by yet more power-packed work by Our Hero. It was the main show showing at www.dailypaul.com when I viewed it, but in case the stuff's changed when you read this, you might can get it by searching Ron Paul FOX 9/5/2007 Footage .Edited by: Nelson

Hannity doing that surprises me, but for me it proves he is an establishment shill. I would have thought Sean would have more "intellectual honesty" than to claim something like that.

The glibness of the politicians is only exceeded by their incestuous paramours embedded in the media. No, it's the other way around. Help, I'm getting confused.

Colonel Reb, I used to be a Sean Hannity fan in years past. However, since I awoke to the true agenda/players of Globalism, I clearly see that "Pawn Vanity" is a NeoCon mouthpiece and tool of the Globalist Elite (as are "Hush Bimbo" &amp; Bill "O'LIEly").

Nelson, those clowns (Limblow, Vanity, O'LIEly, Beck, etc.) are total propaganda shills for the Global Elite. Even Neal Boortz is much more NeoCON than Libertarian (as he claims to be). I prefer Alex Jones, Dr.Stan Monteith &amp; Pastor Chuck Baldwin over the phony conservatives.

Republican presidential candidate Ron Paul of Texas greets supporters at a fundraising luncheon Friday. He also gave a constitutional lecture at Seattle University.</DIV></DIV></DIV>
    <DIV ="">

Texas Congressman Ron Paul said in Seattle on Friday that America is approaching an economic and constitutional crisis due to growing debt, bad trade deals and assaults on personal liberty.

And even if he beat all the odds and won the presidency next year, he said, the problem would be beyond what he alone could fix.

"The time is coming. I believe that the great debate is coming," Paul told more than 400 mostly young people who attended his constitutional lecture at Seattle University.

"We have become soft on the issue of liberty and we have become more concerned about our personal safety and our personal economic well-being and an illusionary trust that government can make us perfectly safe and protect us perfectly in an economic way," he said.

Paul said young people will have to decide whether to go along with the "clichés" that say the Constitution is a living, flexible document.

"It is a philosophical struggle," he said. "If you are for a strict interpretation of the Constitution, if you are truly for liberty and for limited government ... then the law will come along."

For Paul, who ran for president as a Libertarian in 1988, a strict interpretation of the Constitution would mean a lot of changes. Talking to KIRO-AM (710) host Dori Monson earlier in the day, Paul said he thought the government could be cut by 80 percent. That'd be enough that there'd be no need for the income tax or a replacement tax, he said.

At Seattle University, he said Congress has willingly given away far too much power to the executive branch, particularly when it comes to foreign policy. He said the president is commander in chief of the military, but "he's not commander in chief of the people of the country."

Congress should reassert itself with trade policy as well, he said, and not leave the administration to set tariffs or make deals with "WTO or NAFTA or CAFTA," trade agreements he pronounced with such disdain they sounded like diseases.

States, Paul said, should rely on a principle in the Constitution that allows them to ignore decisions by federal courts on issues that could be described as dealing with states' rights.

"I see the Constitution as being written precisely for one purpose -- to restrain the power of government; never to restrain the people," he said to great applause.

Paul had a full day of events in Seattle, including fundraisers and rallies. Speeches have become rarer in presidential politics. Some candidates come to town with no public appearances, or only for base-building rallies.
    <DIV id=admiddle3left>

The lecture was organized by Seattle University law students. What's the appeal of Paul to the young supporters?</DIV>

"Everything," said Malisa Gurule, a third-year law student who headed the drive to get Paul on campus.

Gurule, 25, said she had never donated to a presidential candidate until she saw Paul in the Republican debates. She's also never voted in a presidential primary or been involved in a caucus, though she says she will do whatever is needed to help Paul get the GOP nomination.

"He's the only person saying something different," she said. "He's not afraid to attack the status quo."

I received a really cool copied letter from Dr. Paul yesterday in the mail. If the paper hadn't been 2 sided and legal sized, I would have scanned it and posted it here. I hate to think that in the future we may look back on this election and say, if they had only nominated and voted for Ron Paul. I am still hopeful though!
