For a real example of what will befall the American nation look to the
plight of Miklos Horthy of Hungary. After losing a humiliating defeat in
World War One the Hungarian nation suffered violent Communist
takeovers and finally managed to retake their land and regain their
posture shortly before the Second World War. Then Germans played him
like a pawn in Hitler's chess match against Stalin. Once Horthy, the
Regent of Hungary, realized he was a pawn being thrown about and
sending his countrymen to their deaths he attempted to back out of the
Axis Powers, but it was too late and Hitler had Horthy arrested as Stalin
raped his country and imposed a Communist dictatorship over Hungary.
The US Constitution suffered a humiliating defeat during the Second War
for Independence and eventually the Southern States overthrew the
violent anti's of the carpetbaggers during Reconstruction. The American
Constitution and nation eventually climbed out from the ashes and
reestablished themselves but threw ourselves into multiple foreign
alliances. Now who is it that is played like a pawn? The bulk of the
American Military is basically at the UN's disposal (Somalia, Bosnia, Herzegovina and now Kosovo). And depending on the President at the
time, more and more of our institutions are sacrificed at the alter of
internationalism. We support the world by our blood and money and
what do we receive in return...nothing. We pay the import taxes to
Europe and China while they refund our export taxes. If it was not for us
then China would be part of Japan and Europe would either be Greater
Germany or Greater Russia. Our resources are the pawns for the rest of
the world to conduct business.
Now we are Horthy, betrayed by our allies and soon to be the spoil of the
third world's conquering masses.  ;

Just purchased the Memoirs of Admiral Nicholas Horthy. Horthy writes in the preface,
"The misfortunes of 1945 cannot and must not be the finale of Hungarian history. I profess my adherence to the words of our great Hungarian poet, Imre Madach, who in his The Tradegy of Man sings, "Man, have faith, and in that faith fight on!"

This is an amazing coincidence! I ordered that very same book last week from Amazon, which arrived yesterday.
Horthy was a fascinating character; an officer in the Austro-Hungarian navy and its last commandant, intimate of Emperor Francis Joseph, friend of Count Tisza, acquainted with the Archduke Franz Ferdinand, and later Regent of Hungary.
I'm curious to see his version of the meeting with Charles (ex-Kaiser Karl) when the latter returned to Budapest in 1921 in his unsuccessful attempt to re-establish the Habsburg dynasty.

Yes, I must give Amazon credit for making available books which you would never find in any local book chain. They have authors on the European New Right--Dr. Tomislav Sunic and others, for example, which you would otherwise find it difficult to obtain.
If you find the subject of pre- and post-World War I politics interesting, you might check out "In the World War" by Count Ottokar Czernin, "Talks With T.G. Masaryk" by Karel Capek, "Twilight of the Habsburgs" by Alan Palmer, and "Atatürk" by Andrew Mango.
An Amazon affiliate has a book I've beensearching for quite a long time--"Memoirs of a Diplomat" by Konstantin Theodor Dumba, but he wants $119.75. Dumba was Austro-Hungarian ambassador to the U.S. from 1913 until being declared persona non grata for involvement with labor strife and alleged sabotage among workers who came from Austria-Hungary. His memoirsattempt to justify his actions (for better or worse) on the grounds of potential U.S. enmity.
I'm hoping the seller will soon realize we're in a depression and lower his price to something more realistic.

Wow, I wish I could "unzip" the above post and get a quick lowdown on the various figures mentioned. Real history is in eclipse -- many of us have no clue about a lot of it.
Am again sentimentally sampling the various renditions of Waters Ripple And Flow in Youtube
