Two-thirds of Tan-Everyman-ville, my burg, was without grid power. No stoplights functioning at the junctions of three main roads with the big six-lane highway leading Pinko City on the Chesapeake.
My mom’s nursing home seven miles north, across the river …. No grid power, on standby generators. I brought Mama-san some cold soda and cookies, and a few more for her roommates. But normal Saturday sit-down lunch was cancelled for box-lunch rations, since power out to the fridges. Some catering company was hired in emergency to bring victuals for the next six meals. I go back tomorrow at 0800 hrs. Hope for the best!
Long gas lines formed at Exxon in BB county just north, because all the gas stations all the way to Pinkotown were inop due to power failure. Drivers were edgey and rude, but that’s their normal state anyway. I was more anxious about the behavior of the area’s 150,000 Negroes. So far not much mayhem, it will be better when the lights go back on. I walked around my neighborhood at 1730 hrs, and many dozens of generators were doing heavy duty.
It will be good when I “retire” and depart the “subdivisions” for more Redneck domains further inland. That’s about 1100 days away. I’m counting.
