My
blog earlier today was about the new Tea Party documentary due out this
fall. It’s emphasis is the national debt. It’s the right thing to
do: We need to engage the culture and reach out. Consider another
movie trend: Churches and believers making independent movies. I am
sure Hollywood laughed when they heard that this Baptist church in
rural Georgia was producing a football movie. They should have been right:

Hollywood veterans will tell you that if a low-budget movie makes it into theaters, it’s a miracle.</blockquote>
Here’s the scenario, perhaps worthy of a Disney plot:

The movie is the benefit of a highly targeted marketing
plan and the latest success for Sherwood Pictures, a tiny production
company affiliated with Sherwood Baptist Church in Albany, Ga., about
100 miles southwest of Macon. It was directed by Alex Kendrick, 38, and
written by Mr. Kendrick and his brother, Stephen, 35, with the church’s
senior pastor, Michael Catt, serving as an executive producer.</blockquote>
They stopped laughing very quickly:

Their second movie, Facing the Giants, about a
struggling high school football team, was picked up by Sony Pictures

According to the film's producers, they were told the motion picture

In light of detailed review and analysis by Americans United for Life
Action and other groups of Kagan's contemporaneous documentation on
these matters, there can be no doubt that this testimony is false and
misleading. Kagan's amended language to
the ACOG report was politically negotiated and strategized, and it
dramatically changed the meaning of the ACOG statement. Court records
show the ACOG report as altered by Kagan was passed off to the Supreme
Court as official scientific opinion, even though the ACOG's panel of
scientists never reviewed or approved Kagan's wording.

Declaration Alliance believes Kagan's behind-the-scenes work constitutes "conspiracy to defraud the Supreme Court," </span>and

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Nearly a year before the national furor over foreclosures began, Lisa Epstein, a nurse, ran into three other amateur sleuths who separately were investigating shoddy practices at mortgage companies.


While meeting for the first time in November at an old one-story law office in this city, the four strangers compared notes and began to piece together the scope of the problem: All over the United States, big financial firms might have been using fraudulent paperwork to evict struggling borrowers from their homes.


Now tight-knit, the group is largely responsible for setting off the growing firestorm over foreclosures.


Epstein, a Fairfax County native who became an activist after she lost her job and became unable to pay her mortgage, launched a grass-roots movement against the country's largest banks, which are facing the prospects of billions of dollars in soured loans and legal expenses.


Joining her were Michael Redman, whose foreclosure blog drew the White House into the controversy, and Thomas and Ariane Ice, who run a boutique law firm that was the first to depose "robo-signer" Jeffrey Stephan of Ally Financial's GMAC mortgage unit in December.


In addition to trying to educate the public about the issue, the group had also been quietly passing along stacks of problematic documents to state and federal regulators, lawmakers, judges and law enforcement officials.


They pointed out that document processors such as Stephan had admitted in sworn depositions that they had signed off on up to 10,000 foreclosure documents a month, even though they had not reviewed them as legally required. They also shed light on foreclosure cases in which the paperwork appeared to have been backdated, forged or improperly notarized....................
