I am not a Catholic or partisan of Catholicism, but enjoy a friend's castoff copies of CATHOLIC WORLD REPORT, a conservatve gloss magazine edited by an unusually thoughtful (if often wimpish) reverend. there are a handful of especially notable items in the May issue:
1. Vatican, government clash on head chaplain : Holy See protests bishop's ouster. "The Vatican appears headed for a showdown with the government of Argentina," whose president(oddly named Kirchner) is enraged at the bishop who is the head military chaplain, Antonio Juan Baseotto. The latter has been BLASTING the govt for its push to legalize feticide, even stating (per the SCriptures) that top pols "should have a millstone put around their neck and be thrown into the sea" -- fighting words in a country where a lot of that type thing has gone on at topmost political levels!"
2. Bishop Frederick Henry in Calgary, Ont, is being sued by two sodomites for preaching against "gay marriage." The Canadian govtis of course running after every kind of perversion known to man, so he's got an uphill fight. He's received death threats but doesn't plan to back down. Jerry Foolwell could take a lesson from this papist.
3. Russian Orthodox parish in Havana. OK, somebody explain this. there are "about 2,000 members of the Orthodox community in Havana. Most of them have arrived in the recent years [sic] as diplomats or as immigrants, as a result of the close ties that linked the Castro government to the regimes of eastern Europe before the collapse of communism." (Ugh, there's that word again -- COMMUNITY - where it serves no purpose but to add a sycophantic touch.) What could possibly influence Orthodox Russians to move to Cuba "in recent years"? So few details, so much of teh time!
4. An ad for audio CDs from Opus Sanctorum Angelorum lists a set of 3 entitled Music and Morality. "What is wrong with Rock Music? Music can be a most powerful element in disposing a person toward virtue or vice. These conferences provide clear reasons why music has long been considered a key factor in the moral formation of teh young. They are addressed to both parents and youth." I hope some of you at least are as glad as I am to see such a thing in print -- ANYWHERE. How many units of such resources would you guess have been sold during the rock era, as contrasted with the hundreds of millions, more likely billions, of recordings by Michael Jackson, Kiss, Eminem, gangsta rappers, Beatles, Stones, Elvis et al?

Regarding the second topic here; what happened in Canada is absolutely not a one time thing. Canada is much further along the road of total loss of free speech than we are. A similar episode took place in Sweden a couple years back, only the priest in this case was put in jail for simply stating that homosexuality was a sin according to the Bible.

Now the Vatican has come out against the feminization of stuff under its purview, including the Swiss Guards, "the world's oldest mercenary force." It's good news they have the guts to defy feminazism this strongly, but I'm afraid to ask what their real motivation might be.

Now here's a good one. it looks like the RCC is finally realizing that when you eat arsenic you die -- and trying a return no real nutrition as a last resort. (Well, insofar as Rome has ever had it!)
Next you have a bunch of female supremacists well-ensconced in the bureaucracy complaining that the return to "orthodoxy" will put them out of work. They sound like the kind who would normally oppose sexism and gender discrimination?
You endlessly hear about "church teaching" in Catholic writing nowadays, as if for an institution to teach something instantly gave it great gravitas. "Teaching" is about the weakest word choice for any such product -- presumably they're trying to deep-six the horribly pre-1960s terms "doctrine" and "dogma". Ooooooh, can't be to dogmatic about things in the post-Beatles age of love, love, love, all you need is love!
<DIV>On Long Island, Catholic Church's Shift Draws Critics
The church hopes changes to its education system will help
increase attendance and giving. Critics see the
reorganization as a shift toward orthodoxy.</DIV>
<DIV>
Among American Catholics raised in the years after the Second Vatican Council of 1962-65, church teaching has usually mixed orthodoxy with contemporary notions about the value of dialogue, self-exploration and the full-fledged participation of women in society. Whether by coincidence or not, theirs has been the generation of Catholics that produced the first widespread alarm about the sexual abuse of children by priests, a problem said by some to date back many generations.
But a reorganization of the doctrinal teaching system within the Diocese of Rockville Centre on Long Island, which was announced last week, has raised concerns among some Roman Catholics. They believe it augurs a shift to pre-Vatican II conservatism, a diminished role for women in the church and a new authoritarian stamp on the way 1.4 million church members on Long Island learn what it means to be Catholic and interact with their church.
The announcement offered few details, but the broad sweep of the personnel changes made clear that the reorganization would affect the way children learn the catechism, the way church members are counseled regarding marriage and bereavement, the standards by which doctrinal textbooks are selected and the specific terms and conditions by which people may be included in the Catholic communion........

Just heard on AM radio news: the new Catholic Archbishop of New York, Timothy Dolan (b. 1950), is rated "a theological conservative" and rapped Joe Bidet and Nancy Pelousy for "misrepresenting timeless church doctrine." That's all that was said</span>......
and Google brings up exactly one</span> search result on the quote.
Wiki: In the 2008 presidential election, Dolan rebuked Democratic vice-presidential candidate Sen. Joe Biden and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for "misrepresenting timeless Church doctrine" on abortion, which the Archbishop called the "premier civil rights issue of our day."</span>

This whole subject -- Catholic priests stepping out of their PC rut with unforeseen candor -- is heating up fast! You are not going to BELIEVE the latest Power newsletter from Ingrid Zündel. A Catholic priest and professor (working only a couple of hours from me no less) wrote an article in an Archdiocese of Atlanta </span>weekly newspaper which is in fact an extended open letter elegantly ripping to shreds the whole guilt trip the gews have put on the Catholics since WW2. Especially where Pope Pius XII is concerned!
You're not going to believe this. Best I can do tracking it online for the moment:

I was so excited I called Frau Zündel - an exalting experience, just like reading anything she writes in her crisp, zestful, pluperfect English. Bishop Williamson became a revisionist by the light of Ernst Zündel's work, and now this -- how many more priests are going to decide not to grovel any longer before the FALSE MANMADE RELIGION of gew PC?

Great stuff about Bishop Williamson! Thanks for the info, Nelson!
The Society of St Pius X is under the gun from the New World Order big time. It's the tip of the sword of the Catholic Traditionalist Movement, which seriously threatens to undermine the Vatican Two garbage regime that has taken over the Traditional Church since 1964. Williamson is a gutsy dude, and his boss Bernie Fellay IS a turncoat traitor, handing SSPX over to the Jewish-inspired Vatican Two heirarchy.
Pope Benedict Arnold deftly rides the fence between Traditionalists and Vatican Two Freemasons. When he croaks a refreshingly leftist non-Traditionalist will be elected, and SSPX will be driven further underground.
The Williamson affair has had some interesting side effects for me. For many years I supported "The Remnant" newspaper, where the Matt family had taken on the Vatican Two regime head-on for decades. What a disappointment when Bishop Williamson took his courageous stand against the excesses of Holocaust Exaggeration, resulting in his exile out of North America and being hunted by Zionazis. Immediately The Remnant editor Michael Matt made a statement like,"Of course Bishop Williamson should be sacked and removed from the country for his remarks about the Holocaust."
Very sad, I thought The Remnant to be of real value, but I was wrong

So many disappointments along the way fighting for the truth -- but ah, the victories great and small that make it worth it! It was indeed dismal beyond belief when SSPX threw ARW under the bus just like that, and Argentina -- of all places on this earth -- threw him in the trash.
I had high hopes for SSPX et al when they emerged into the SPLC's gun sights. Maybe they're still worth something on other subjects? ("Other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how did you like the play?") The Remnant caved, but do you know of any other true-blue Catholic anti-Zionist entities (groups, periodicals etc.) out there, Realgeorge? I've tried contacting some via (thanks to) Morris the Cat, but don't recall getting any response.......

The only reliable Catholic Traditionalist outlet in the world is TRADITIO. It's internet presence is www.traditio.comThe section called "Daily Commentary from the Fathers" is where all the political discourse is. The priest who runs TRADITIO steadfastly refuses to reveal his identity. That's a sticky point. But the website churns daily, and has archives going back to 1997.
The TRADITIO rejects all competing Traditionalist sources, especially The Remnant, The Wanderer. The Latin Mass, Catholic Counterreformation, and others. They in turn excoriate TRADITIO as a hopeless, cantankerous crank.
What's refreshing to me about TRADITIO is the No Quarter of its editorials. All is very simple: The Traditional Church before 1956, and nothing else. The editor effortlessly dismisses any and all that are not 100% in his court. I recommend it as a most interesting read. Every month there are dozens of blistering articles about the sex perverts of the Vatican Two bunch, the wanton criminality of American "Bishops", the utter phoniness of the illigitimate "Sunday Mess"
Have a look, lemme know what you think [I especially recommend the archives in period 2003-2006, where TRADITIO skewers the Pope John Paul Two legacy]

That is something! Newchurch Child-rape Victim "Pies" Belgian Primate at Novus Ordo Mess</span> -- hah, serves the sicko right. Tons of interesting commentary there as you say. Is there any good jew stuff in the site? I see only one mild comment about the prayer for their conversion, but I've only had time to scan one installment of From: The TRADITIO Fathers so far.
I hope others will compose in the old styles like Wilton and that there will be some "market" for them including choirs to sing them. As it is, choirs as we've known them are in a sorry state indeed. The bustup of civilization was so FAST once the Beatles hit Ed Sullivan for the first time. I say that was the real turning point.
