In 1994 I ran for Congress in the 5th District of Oklahoma. I was an independent and my platform was very close to that of A3P. Just think how much better America would be today if the people would have listened in 1994. They didn’t and now America is on the brink of bankruptcy. I have this suggestion for A3P. A3P wants fair trade, but the problem is: “Fair” is subject to interpretation while “Balance” is measurable. We need a trade-balancing tariff. That is a tariff on goods from any country with which we have a trade deficit. The tariff would be proportional to the deficit. That would require trade with each country to be balanced in order to be free of tariff. American products would become more competitive. The revenue from tariffs could be used to offset payroll tax so Americans could keep more of their earnings with which to buy American products.
