"As democracy is perfected, the office of president represents, more and more closely, the inner soul of the people. On some great and glorious day the plain folks of the land will reach their heart's desire at last and the White House will be adorned by a downright moron."

    H.L. Mencken (1880-1956)

    Prophetic words!

The greatest threat to freedom is not foreign governments. It is our own.

Good Mencken quote, Wolfram.I'll run that in The Nationalist Times. Mencken as well as any astute observer of the past mercilessly dissected the American character and the corruptions big and small of government. A dumbed-down, historically ignorant populace combined with an avaricious government does not equal freedom. The trends were obvious long ago but are only coming to complete poisonous fruition now.
