<DIV style="TEXT-ALIGN: left"> As with the First North American Secessionist Convention, held in November 2006 in Burlington, Vermont, this gathering offers a forum for secessionist organizations to exchange ideas and established closer ties. Unlike the first convention, however, this event will be open to secessionist organizations from Europe.

On behalf of The League of the South and The Middlebury Institute, we invite legitimate secession organizations and observers to send a representative to this important event. The convention will begin with an informal gathering on Wednesday evening (3 October) at 7:00 in the Tennessee River Room at the Marriott and will continue all day Thursday (4 October). Our activities will be capped off with a banquet on Thursday evening at a local restaurant. Thereafter, we invite everyone to stay over for The League of the South annual convention at the adjacent Chattanooga Convention Center on 5-6 October. Please let us know no later than 1 July whether your organization will be sending a representative (please provide name, address, and other contact information for your representative(s)). Travel funds will be available on a limited basis from the Middlebury Institute.

There are currently hundreds of secessionist groups throughout the
United States and North America. Some contain thousands of members,
while others only contain a few dozen. The Free State Project is one
of the largest with over 7,000 members. It is based in the state of
New Hampshire. New Hampshire contains over 1 million people. 7,000
cannot make a very large impact. The League of the South is another
very large organziation, attempting to form a nation out of the old
Confederate States. Arkansas has the lowest population of any
Southern state at over 2.8 million people. There is no way even
10,000 people can make a truly peaceful and significant impact
against that many people. Following this logic, California will have
the hardest time seceeding, since it contains over 36 million people.
Secessionists gain most members by directly communicating with
people. In a state as large as California, it will take forever to
communicate directly with the majority of the people. Continuing this
logic, Wyoming becomes the most viable state for Secession. It only
contains about 500,000 people.


Many people may sympathize with Secessionists, but will not join the
cause until one state actually does secede, providing them with proof
of secession's viability. By moving many secessionists from around
the country to Wyoming, we can quickly influence the state politics.
There is a very large Libertarian party in Wyoming that may also be
sympathetic to our cause. Also, over 50% of the state population
lives in one of five counties. Influencing the other 18 counties
would be incredibly simple.


First, influence local town politics. In small Wyoming towns, town
meetings can be a great way to convince dozens of people to join our
cause. Once we control the towns, we move on to the counties. As
support continues to grow, we will be able to have some of our
supporters join the state legislature. Once a state legislator
supports our cause, we can propose changes in the state constitution
to allow for secession. Also, we may be able to gain enough support
to elect a Federal Senator or Representative. Once we have a member
in Congress, they will gain national attention and support for the
Secessionist Movement.


Here is my grand plan. Please bear with me as it may seem unusual.


The general idea is that once one state or region secedes peaceably,
other states and regions may secede more easily. Other will secede
more easily not only because a precedent has been set, but because
the general public will realize that secession is possible. Once the
majority sees secession as viable, many will join the cause.
Following this logic, it would be unwise for the state of California
(where I currently reside) to try to secede first. As the most
populous state, it would be near-impossible to convince the majority
to accept the idea of secession. Continuing that logic, it would make
the most sense to choose Wyoming as the first state to secede.


Here are a few facts about Wyoming:
Population: 493,782
Population at or above voting age (approx.): 395,025
Registered voters (approx.): 256,766
Actual voters (approx.): 154,060


The five most populous counties make up 52.4% of the population
Actual voters not in 5 most populous counties: 73,332
There are 23 counties in Wyoming. The 12 least populous counties have
an average of 3,332 actual voters (with the 12th-15th least populous
counties containing an average of 5,038).


If we were to send members of our cause to settle in Wyoming, they
would have a very large impact in the 12 least populous counties.
Wyoming already has a very large Libertarian party that may support
our cause and about 60% of Wyoming voters tend to vote Republican. If
we were to have a candidate run as a Libertarian, or if we were to
gain the support of most Libertarians, it would be fairly simple to
win county elections. Once control of a county is attained, the state
can be won. Once we have a majority of state legislators and even a
single member in Congress, we can truly make progress.


An idea such as this is being attempted by the Free State Project.
Wyoming was actually their second choice. It has very relaxed gun
laws, it is giving away acres of land for free, it is the number one
producer of coal in America, the number five producer of natural gas
in America, and the number seven producer of crude oil in America.


About 96% of Wyoming is White, with the second largest group being
Native Americans. 78% is Christain, while about 20% is considered non-
religious.


Wyoming is full of opportunities that the rest of America is blind
to. Most Americans could probably not find Wyoming on a map. The
people of Wyoming must realize that they are currently insignificant
to American politics and history. Together we can make Wyoming a
place known throughout the world and help our cause greatly.

The Rev. Jesse Jackson is scheduled to visit Spartanburg Saturday to talk to parents of Park Hills Elementary School students and encourage them to help their children get a good education.


Jackson's appearance is in support of a Denny's Corp. partnership with the school. He is expected to arrive around 4 p.m. before continuing on a voter education and empowerment tour of South Carolina.


Denny's Corp. CEO Nelson Marchioli announced Jackson's visit to the school almost two weeks ago.


"Nelson asked Rev. Jackson to come, and Rev. Jackson expressed his interest and passion for education," said Denny's spokeswoman Debbie Atkins. "He is making a special plan to stop at Park Hills to talk to the parents."


The restaurant chain is the first company to participate in a Spartanburg City Youth Council Initiative to get businesses involved in the lives of children in Spartanburg County School District 7.


Principal Debra Waldron has prepared for the visit by developing a list of points she hopes Jackson will stress to parents.


"We want students to have a positive attitude about being in school and being on time because some have a tardy problem," she said. "We want to encourage parents to read to their children at home and help them get ready for school."


Parents need to encourage their children to get to sleep at a decent hour, so students get plenty of rest, and to reinforce the importance of education, Waldron said. And she wants children to learn to be courteous and to respect others.


The principal has said 97 percent of her students live in poverty, and the additional resources Denny's is contributing will allow the school to provide more learning incentives to the children.


Denny's employees are volunteering to mentor students and supporting the school's reading program by giving certificates, bookmarks and free meals for every 10 books students read.


Lauren Love, in the press department of the Rainbow/PUSH Coalition Headquarters in Chicago, said Jackson has developed a six-point initiative for education. She expects Jackson will discuss those points with parents.


"He was already scheduled to be in the area before the Park Hills stop came up," she said.


Other cities Jackson is scheduled to visit on his tour include Rock Hill, Simpsonville, Clemson and Greenwood.</DIV></DIV>

In addition to the march, the ANSWER Coalition has a number of direct action events planned for the week of September 15-21. On the 15<SUP>th</SUP>, after the march, there’s a die-in led by Iraq veterans symbolizing the deaths of an estimated 4,000 servicemen and women. Monday the 17<SUP>th</SUP> is National Truth in Recruiting Day where members of Iraq Veterans against the War will be dispatched to recruitment centers to present an alternative account of the war. The following day there will be a congressional occupation, and Thursday is Veterans Lobbying Day. As Kokesh explained to me, the goal of the week is to provide a united front among several antiwar groups, including Iraq Veterans Against the War, Codepink, and Grassroots America.

<x-tab></x-tab>On July 7, the ACC (Atlantic Coast Conference) announced it was moving its annual baseball tournament away from Myrtle Beach because of the NAACP boycott of South Carolina for flying the Confederate Flag on the state house grounds. The NAACP seeks to scrap the legislative compromise of 2000. On Saturday, Aug. 29, the South Carolina Conservative Action Council (a new organization) will hold a protest rally and LET US VOTE demonstration in Greenville to allow citizens to show their disagreement with both the NAACP and the ACC. We realize the NAACP will never be satisfied until all Confederate monuments are removed from public property and public display of the Flag is codified as a hate crime.

The Constitution and various amendments that I have held in such high esteem have set us up for destruction from the beginning and have laid the foundation for Islam and everything else abominable to flourish. How could I quote the First Amendment over and over for years without comprehending that it is saying and doing the very opposite of what we as Christians should be promoting? It is like promoting pro-choice over pro-life. I can’t believe that I have unknowingly participated in the schemes of the synagogue of Satan. It (the Constitution) reminds me of the “little book, sweet in the mouth and bitter in the stomach” – Revelation 10:9-10. Thank you so much for your insights!

Bible Law vs. The United Constitution: The Christian Perspective (A Primer) is a new book by Pastor Ted Weiland that deserves the supreme attention of American Christians. To my knowledge, this is the only point-by-point Biblical analysis of the U.S. Constitution in existence. At every major point – and many minor ones along the way – the author finds the U.S. Constitution to be an anti-Christian document.

For example, the “free exercise of religion” guaranteed by law in the U.S. Constitution is a direct contradiction of the First Commandment: “Thou shall have no other gods before me.” The author holds that the Bible protects “freedom of conscience” in a Christian nation, but not “freedom of religion.”

The author has stated that the broken national covenant contained in the U.S. Constitution is the most important issue facing American Christians today. This is because the Constitution makes itself and all the man-made laws “made in pursuance thereof” the “supreme law of the land,” with no mention of Bible law. That makes the Constitution an idol. Until American Christians abandon their idolatrous worship of the false god “we the people” enshrined in the Preamble, God will never bless their efforts at reform.
